Latest Updates from Our Project:

Who wants the Voludeek?
over 2 years ago – Wed, Nov 03, 2021 at 12:16:23 AM

Voludeek will be available over $19,000

This campaign has been so egg-citing and your support has been im-peck-able! Together, we’ve unlocked the Standard-Bearer Centaur, the Elephas, and the Minotaurs! We’re so close to the Voludeek—there’s only a bit of ostrich left! One thing is clear: people can’t stop raven about the Voludeek. To come so close and not make it would be unpheasant and a little hawkward to say the least…Some might go so far as to say it should be ill eagle. So with that in mind, I’ve been doing some calculations and I don’t think it would be too much of a birden….as a toucan of my appreciation, I’ve decided to uncage the birdfolk at $19k! It may be stork raven mad, but I have no egrets.

So in short: If we stay over $19,000 once the campaign ends, I'll make the Voludeek accessible to everyone and it will be unlocked when we move into the Pledge Manager, so keep this in mind when adjusting your pledges!

Gotta fly!

48 Hours Left!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 01, 2021 at 08:05:32 PM

48 Hours Left!

We're in the last 48 hour stretch before the end of the campaign! Help spread the word and lets knock out another stretch goal or two!

Clear Tessera Miniatures

Jus a quick FYI/reminder if you missed the past few updates, the Tessera miniatures will be made entirely from clear plastic instead of a mix of clear spell effects and opaque/white plastic for several reasons (check out this update for more info). If neither Tessera stretch goal is reached, I'll revisit the entirely made of clear plastic idea moving forward, but for this campaign, if they are reached, they will be clear.

Stretch Goals

We've funded the Centaurs and unlocked the Standard-Bearer Centaur, Elephas set, and Minotaur set so far and we're nearing the Voludeek set! With it now being the last 48 hours, there is most likely going to be a spike in pledges, so let's see how far we can get before the last 12-24 hours. That being said, I would also like to remind everyone to adjust your current pledges as close to the end of the campaign on November 3rd @ 7am MST (to give a better chance at reaching a higher funding goal) to avoid any kind of 'more sets than were unlocked' issues as that will be a massive logistical pain to deal with after the campaign is over.

Voludeek Stretch Goal

We're still shy of the Voludeek stretch goal, but it's very likely we'll get it unlocked. Depending on HOW CLOSE the final funding has reached, if the Voludeek stretch goal is not reached, I may be able to manually "unlock" it as a thanks to everyone invested in this Kickstarter already, but we'll need to be relatively close. Either way, the final sets that will be in the Pledge Manager to choose from will be made very clear before the Pledge Manager is ever sent out. Keep in mind, you can also grab additional sets or individual minis in the Pledge Manager as well.

Once The Campaign Ends?

Once the campaign ends, I'll be hard at work prepping the Pledge Manager as well as getting everything in order to have the miniatures manufactured and shipped out in a timely manner. I'll keep everyone updated here in these updates on the progress as they happen to give everyone plenty of info and heads ups. Pledge Manager information will follow about 2 weeks after the campaign has ended and we'll go from there. The Pledge Manager will gather which miniatures you want from your pledge and will give you the opportunity to grab anything else you want or missed.

Thanks!

Thanks again for helping get these miniatures funded for the community!

Tessera Results & The Final Week!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 29, 2021 at 07:17:51 AM

Nearing The End

We're now in the last week of the campaign! At around 7am (MST) on November 3rd, the campaign will be over and the lengthy process of getting the these miniatures made and shipped out will begin! As always, I'll keep everyone updated along the way.

Tessera Miniatures

I've closed the questionnaire for the Tessera about their clear or not spell effects. Here are the final results:

Questionnaire results from everyone who took it are summed up as:

  • Tessera spell effects should be clear.
  • Tessera spell effects should be separated, but by a very small margin.
  • Tessera miniatures made entirely from clear plastic (and not just the spell effects).

With only 5 days left as of writing this, it will be A LOT of work to re-render the 3d models (which I may just avoid for now), update the campaign story, and break up the stretch goals. That being said, I think I'll be following the results of the questionnaire in regards to these Tessera miniatures for this campaign. I will do my best to make this clear (pun intended) on the campaign for the remaining time.

Final Tessera Decisions

To make the Tessera more accessible in both stretch goal unlocking and cheaper to make (without sacrificing any level of quality - same plastic type and method of manufacturing with the color of the plastic being the only thing altered), the following will go into effect as of right now:

  • Tessera mini sets will now be 2 separate stretch goals to unlock.
  • The spell effects will be separate from the mini.
  • The Tessera minis will be made from all clear plastic - spells and miniature.

If they are not unlocked by the end, I'll revisit the entire idea of them and see where to go from there for the next campaign to get those and the goblins + more future minis made!

Here are the new stretch goals with the Tessera now split into two stretch goals:

Community Appreciation

I also wanted to take a minute to thank everyone that has been so supportive towards krakenships and helping with feedback, suggestions, sharing their krakenships miniatures (painted and not) all are things I love to see from the community! It helps keep me motivated and continuing on towards helping to fill the gaps in the miniature world.

That being said, I was just sent a video of some krakenships miniatures being painted and they were awesome enough to help spread awareness of these miniatures and the Kickstarter so I wanted to give a quick shoutout and share the video - loved how these all turned out and it's informative on the mini painting front as well - so it's a win win! Happy Halloween!

Enjoy the weekend and be safe!

Now here's an old photo I dug up from last year:

Minotaur Stretch Goal UNLOCKED! Voludeek Next!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 26, 2021 at 08:43:55 PM

Minotaurs Unlocked!

Passing the $16k mark, we've unlocked the Minotaur set! The Minotaur Set and miniatures will be available in the Pledge Manager to choose from when picking your sets and individual miniatures (if you added any as an add-on).

Voludeek Next!

Next up are the Voludeek at $20k! With still a week left and the last two days typically being a nice surge in pledges, I think we'll get very close!

They may appear meek

but beware their beak!

If adventure you seek,

then unlock in a week

the swift Voludeek!

Tessera Miniatures

After the Voludeek, the Tessera miniatures are next. For all the details, see this previous update. The Tessera are a large jump in cost for their stretch goal and I've been going over some possible ideas based on feedback from everyone. If you'd like to weigh in, please take this 4 question (really 3) questionnaire on how the Tessera miniatures should be made versus their cost to make:

-------Click>> Clear Spell Effects Questionnaire <<Click-------

(I'll be closing this questionnaire within the next couple of days)

As always, I'd like to be transparent on what's going on behind the scenes, so here are the Tessera questionnaire results so far:

As of right now the results are leaning towards:

  • Clear spell effects.
  • Spell effects are separate from the miniatures (by a super close margin).
  • Making the Tessera entirely from clear plastic. (this will allow for them to be separated into their own stretch goals as well as lower the overall cost of the Tessera by quite a bit)

Thanks Again!

Thank you again to everyone who is helping make these a reality!

Spell Effects & Stretch Goals
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 19, 2021 at 03:42:26 PM

Spell Effects!

So the last update, for those who did not see it, had a lot of info on the campaign and it's current configuration and all that fun stuff, but it also had some info on the Tessera minis and their spell effects. If you're curious on any of that, please check out that last update.

Long story short, I'm looking at making the Tessera Stretch Goal more obtainable and split up so each Tessera set as its own stretch goal instead of both being in a single large stretch goal. The main obstacle with doing this is that the spell effects for each of the Tessera miniatures are clear plastic while the mini themselves are the normal white plastic. I set up a questionnaire for this to gauge the position and thoughts on this from everyone, so if you have a moment and haven't already filled it out, please check it out - it's 4 questions and shouldn't take more than a minute or two:

-------Click>> Clear Spell Effects Questionnaire <<Click-------

Right now, the cheapest and best solution in terms of getting them made is to have the entire miniature made from clear plastic - spell effects AND the miniature itself. Having the spell effects separate or not is still up for debate and the feedback from questionnaire will help a lot with that. The quality of the miniature itself will not be affected, just the color of the plastic it's made from. Doing the entire mini in clear plastic means it will take less molds to make the miniatures and therefore lower the cost substantially.

Campaign Funding Speed

We're still doing great with the funding amount going up every day - we're now over 200% funding as of the time of writing this. Awareness is still the single biggest factor in getting the stretch goals knocked out. Also, keep in mind that the last two days of the campaign will automatically notify nearly 600 people who are following this and have not yet pledged - not to mention that statically, the last two days get a large surge in pledges as well.

If you have any concerns or questions about what happens if any stretch goals are not met, check out that last update as it may help. Regardless, I'll be spinning up future Kickstarter campaigns to fund any miniatures that were not reached in this campaign.
